A Pumpkin Pie French Toast Morning...

First, I want to start by giving praise to my Father in Heaven for the beautiful autumn weather that has come our way! I know most people probably hate the rain and long for the warmer days of summer, but I love cool, crisp mornings that smell like rain and falling leaves! I'm so excited to help my children really experience and savor the seasons as they change! So many memories I want to give them as they grow! I want them to grow up to be adults who can see His handiwork in all the details of nature, in the smells of the kitchen, and in the warmth of a cozy home! We started this morning with pumpkin pie french toast that was so delicious! My oldest son is almost 21 months and he loves to help me cook...kinda. He really loves sampling things with his finger and dumping ingredients in the bowl for me and I love his company sitting atop the counter next to me! Here's the recipe... enjoy it and the beautiful autumn days ahead!

INGREDIENTS

3 eggs
1/4 cup pumpkin puree
1/4 cup milk
1/4 tsp vanilla 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ginger
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp cloves
2 tbsp brown sugar
8 slices of bread (I used sourdough)

DIRECTIONS

1. Mix all the ingredients together.

2. Heat a pan over medium heat. (I like to use a little butter in the skillet too.)

3. Dip both sides of the bread and grill until golden brown. Keep the slices that are done in your oven at 200 degrees while you finish the rest.

4. Butter and serve with warm maple syrup. You could add a little cinnamon to the syrup too!

5. Enjoy!!
