The Spirit of Thanksgiving

As we enter in to the holiday season, let's all pledge to slow down and savor the coming weeks! They go by so fast!  Let's all come together to focus on what the season is truly about and keep all the pressures the world creates at bay.  Let's begin with a heart of gratitude! In a culture that is totally preoccupied with the latest trend and gadget and want, let's make sure to pay attention, solely, to all the blessings in our lives and where they come from. Let's gather our families and talk about these things daily, not just on November 24.
Melissa and I would like to get the ball rolling by setting aside Fridays this month to share what we're thankful for, we would love to hear from you too! Tell us what you are grateful for and what are some of your family's traditions during the Thanksgiving season to stay focused on gratefulness!

Melissa and I are thankful first and foremost for our Father in Heaven, the Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). We are thankful that He loves us so much that He came to earth, became a curse for us on the cross (Galatians 3:13) , that He conquered death and rose again, and that He ascended back into heaven so that we may have an abundant life with Him, now and forever! As His children, we are thankful that He guides our steps (Psalms 23:7), holds our hand (Isaiah 41:13), and sees us as righteous (Romans 4:24) through our faith in Him, no matter how many times we may fall short!
